Kenny '2 Shady' Mitchell Wins First Golden Gloves Boxing Match.

The Golden Gloves Boxing tournament officially started Saturday February 18, 2017 at the 3 Lakes Golf Course in Penn Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The match began promptly at 7:00pm. All of the evening's boxer's came out to greet friends, family, and fans and to hear the national anthem. The venue quickly filled with hundreds of people. The venue ran out of seating, which led many to stand eagerly anticipating the evening's festivities.

There was a total of twelve boxing matches. Boxers were divided by weight class and gender.

Kenny '2 Shady' Mitchell was in representation of Boyce Boxing and was one of the night's leading attractions.

Mitchell began pursuit of a career in boxing after graduating from Penn Hills High School two years ago. Unfortunately, Mitchell was sent to jail shortly after finishing his high school career. However, his passion for the boxing ring didn’t stop, it only grew.

Mitchell was released in October of 2016 and has heavily trained with his coaches since, eager to accomplish his goals. People from all over the city came out in support of Mitchell , and eager to see him in the ring of his first amateur fight. Mitchell was the fifth fight of the evening, competing against Chad Forlai of Octane MMA 152 lbs. Sub-Novice division 1st round.

After the 3 round, 3 minute fight; Mitchell was named victorious. Mitchell will soon be in the ring competing in his second round for the Golden Glove tournament. For more information on Mitchell, be sure to follow him on social media @_kenny2death.
