Thousands Pack Downtown for Arts Festival.

Thousands of people packed downtown during the ten days of the Three Rivers Arts Festival. Downtown Pittsburgh has been packed since June 2, 2017. So packed in fact; that the Pittsburgh Police Commander Ed Trapp recommended to many that they should use public transportation in comparison to driving and parking in downtown lots and parking garages. During this past weekend Friday June 9th to June 11th, the Arts Festival endured the most community and city-wide participation. All weekend long Pittsburghers' experienced 80-90 degree weather. Arts Festival Attendee Justin Jones said, "The main thing I love about the Arts Festival is the food. The gyros, taco bowls, chicken, rice, fried Oreos, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and more! The food is always on point!" The food vendor lines were extremely long, some waited for up to 30 minutes to get their favorite dish. The Arts Festival also had ample activities for friends and families where kids got face paint, areas for Arts n' Crafts, live bands, music, performances, and photos. Arts Festival attendee Rebecca Crews said, "My favorite part of this year's festival was the music and performances."
