Trinity Church Throws Summer Block Party!

By: Paige K. Mitchell Saturday July 22, 2017 Trinity Missionary Baptist Church held their annual Block Party event where the church and the community came together to celebrate life, love, and happiness. The block party took place on the same street as the church (address: 3415 Ligonier Street) in Lawrenceville. Pastor James E. Garmon, Jr. was so excited for the affair and was determined to not let the rain take away his joy. "I prayed it wouldn't rain today because we have been preparing for this event for months but in spite of the rain I still am hoping for a fun Block Party," Pastor Garmon said. The Block Party took place from noon until 6:00pm, and unfortunately rain did indeed come. But the party was not washed out! Church and community members still came to endure in the festivities. Pittsburgh businesses came, including officers from the Pittsburgh Police Department and the Fire Station. The church had free food and activities. Brenda Davis said, "I had a good time at the block party. The members of the church were so nice, I am considering attending a church service in the future."
