Community Appreciation Day in the Hill District.

By: Paige K. Mitchell Community Appreciation Day took place in the heart of the Hill District on Saturday August 19, 2017. State Representative, and member of Pittsburgh Black Elected Officials Coalition, Jake Wheatley was at the forefront of the community day of fun! The event was sponsored by UPMC. Hundreds came out to enjoy the free food, live entertainment, treats, food trucks, kid games, face paint, card games, health & wellness fun activities, and giveaways. WAMO 100 Radio Personalities, Brother Marlon and Ki Ki Brown hosted the event. The block was filled with vendors such as; Three Rivers Adoption Council, Children's Museum, Community Kitchen, Carnegie Science Center, and more! The community seemed so thankful for this community affair.
